Just click the box which declines signing up to Prime and the order will continue without Prime.

But, why wouldn't you take up the free offer and just cancel afterwards? It will save you money, and given the forum we're on...

Most of the time, there is no box.  Amazon wants prople to sign up for Prime without realising that there is any option to decline.

Some of us don't want to sign up for a pay montly service we don't want, and then have to cancel it again.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.
  • I agree. The problem of becoming signed up for Amazon Prime and me having to spend time cancelling it is the main reason I've stopped using Amazon.

I didn't find it straightforward or quick and that's the issue but it's no longer a problem because I now buy stuff elsewhere.

I don't mind when they offer for free, it means it's there ready when I want to binge a few TV shows on there.

If only Netflix did some offers like I get from others.

There is always a box. Granted, it's not always prominent, and you have to look for it, but it's there.

And, even if you do miss it and inadvertently sign up, it's really not difficult to cancel it. People are doing this all the time with subscriptions (Netflix, Disney, Paramount, Prime and all the others), take up the free offer and then cancel. After all, it's why we're all here on this forum, isn't it, to take up the free offers and save money?

Cancelled prime not long ago and needed an item where it was actually in stock on the Amazon site and nowhere else.

It popped up the Renew Prime for 99p box and get the delivery the next day and another box to continue without prime
where the delivery would be 3 days.

I selected continue without prime and then the website dumped me back on the homepage with an error. 3 more attemps
and the same error before it finally went to the payment page.

Cynical me may think that was a little more than coincidence that it took that many attempts to pay without prime.

I did add another item to my basket until they wanted £17.50 to deliver a 5kg item which only cost £12.   Ebay £18
    including delivery.

I am an Amazon Prime member and have been for years. I got a discount on Deliveroo for two years, I am able to store all my photos for free and most of my orders arrive the next day free of charge. I pay for Kindle Unlimited but if I add up the magazine subscriptions I get for free, effectively Kindle Unlimited is free for me. That's before I look at the price of ebooks. Never had a quibble about a return either. Amazon can sometimes be beaten on price by Costco though.

I cancelled prime as mentioned last month and whilst ordering something recently it did offer next day delivery if I paid 99p
and signed upto prime again.  I selected no and the order went through and still arrived the next day.

So far not missing anything.   Lots of places are cheaper than Amazon, not as cheap as they used to be and the deliveries
were getting slower around here even though we are close to a major warehouse.
