I got a 4 year old Saunier Duval combi boiler, noticed this morning, water dripping out the bottom of the boiler. I can see a silver metal plate in the centre where the drip is coming from which is a concern...
Anyone know why this is happening?
Many Thanks

Sound like you need to read this here.
More details about repair here. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
Thanks for that....my boiler's from 2003, won't be covered in this...
All that I can say is that these new boilers don't last for long without some problem occurring and even re-occurring! Best of luck with it anyway. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
Don't want to worry you, but when my Saunier Duval started dripping, it turned out that the heat exchanger had rusted through - Completely terminal!
Probably best to get someone to look at it quickly before a drip turns into a full on leak0 -
Hi
What's the exact model?
Have you topped up the pressure lately?

Themaclassic F23E.....No I haven't topped up with water recently, as It's been working fine for last 3 years and was on 2.0 for that time...0 -
Hi
There are a few places that water can leak.
Auto air vent
The connection of the pressure relief valve.(You might need the expansion vessel pumping up)
The built in filling loop. This is the reason I asked about topping up the pressure. The filling loop is likely to drip after filling and is not a problem.(If you have the installation manual see page 27)
A look around the bottom section behind the control panel will reveal something , hopefully not a leaky HE.

Maybe a service is in order.Ask to see CIPHE (Chartered Institute of Plumbing & Heating Engineering)0 -

I have a 20year+ floor standing Baxi which has started to leak from inside where I can not see. Heavy drips, so have had to turn off and drain down.
Visiting plumber says 'probably' heat exchanger, so needs new boiler.
I know the boiler is old and inefficient but is there any other likely cause of the leak which could be fixed, before I go for the £3500 replace option I have been quoted (for a £1500 boiler)
British Gas do a fixed price repair option with no charge if they can not fix, should I go for that or am I just wasting time, we have no heating and no hot water at present:rolleyes:0 -

Good evening: An excellent description of what should constitute an annual service is available here... http://www.miketheboilerman.com/servicingdetail.htm
