Disconnection fees if moving from NowTV Fibre to Virgin and later back again (out of contract)

Options
Years ago, I remember there were large fees if you stopped ADSL completely, even outside of contract.  This was to cover the cost of someone going to the street cabinet and disconnecting the line.

Then there was a reconnection fee if you came back, though BT Broadband waived that.

Do these fees still exist/apply for fibre?

If I moved to Virgin and, after an 18 month contract, moved back to Openreach, will there be similar fees?

(I live in an area with only around 15Mb/s and no high speed alternatives or mobile broadband and even the cheap adsl deals are more expensive than VM).

Thanks.

Virgin & Openreach supplied ISP are totally separate & do not use the same cables.

I can remember the old ADSL cease fee's. But they were really when people got it wrong & simply did not transfer the service to another ISP. They ceased connection, then went elsewhere, thus having a connection fee.

What would be the right way to transfer to Virgin to avoid the fee?

I read that after the 14th March there will be a "one click" approach for all ISPs to co-ordinate transfers between cable/fibre, but that was originally meant to start a couple of years ago.  So, I assumed at the moment it would be a separate order of Virgin and a separate unrelated cancel of Openreach which may get a cease fee.
