I received the above 16" option (now at £339 ) from AO.com in less than 24 hours free delivery but it was sold by AO via its ebay shop with a 20% ebay discount so I paid £274 its still value today at £339 vs anything at Currys
The ram can be upgraded at a later date too.
I wouldnt touch Currys its ok to view test and feel the weight etc
My suggestion is consider the 16" at £339 above from AO.com as its a cost effective compromise .
I x usb port ,1 x usb C port ,300nit screen 16" screen its the same laptop/laptop family as in your second photo
Except its not £499 its £160 less delivered
AO rang me just after I paid online via ebay to offer a £7 a month insurance plan which I declined you dont insure cheap laptops its a waste of money.
They also gave me warranty and other info help and their customer service ph number was logged.
Might get your recommended one 16inch..this the same-?

Yes I believe thats the same as I got mine via the deal here on HUKD for £274 (as AO was selling it on ebay with a ebay discount code .)

Its a budget plastic 16inch ,good Ryzen 5, 300nit sceen ,upgradable ram and a good compromise on cost at £339 today .
If you wanted better you have to dig deeper into your pocket........from the Dell link provided I saw this but its £600.
I would really really prefer this Dell with 16 ram, high res screen, backlit keyboard etc but at £325 more I cant do it at pres.

You need to spend more to get more in general
None of these are tough laptops I think the risks are much the same on a good £300 deal vs £600 unless you spend loads on a business laptop.
If I had money to burn on a laptop my priorities are a good 16" hi res screen ,backlit keyboard ,16 ram ,alloy build etc etc .
Those types of laptop are all out of my budget though !
Probably like yourself I would be out of my depth finding that kind of deal so went for the Asus 1605YA 16inch at £274 as it was a good low cost deal although only a budget model its not terrible as some of the others that have been suggested .
When looking for a 14inch alot more choice is available but not so at 16inch
If you have time keep a eye on HUKD in case something else pops up1 -

Isnt the webcam in the keyboard on the Huawei D15 ?
You cant increase the ram so no option too update that in the future .
Nice alloy finish though and bigger storage.
A 14inch Vivobook is up today on HUKD for £380 with 250 nit screen that otherwise on spec and features it really ticks alot of boxes .

That bargain u listed has sold out. Think I'll just get the same one you bought but from Amazon. Got the specs I need for Teams and general use.
Just bought it £340 off Amazon. Apparently windows 11 on this only allows u to use their store and not another way to get apps which isn't great but getting fed up deciding so decided to get same as u as you are happy with it

Remember you have bought a budget laptop which means you payed little to get little ..if you did buy it this time and decide to keep it .
As far as a 16inch goes its about as good as you can get brand new for £339 .
I payed £274 but at 339 its still not bad at all .
Although it will be a compromise because you didnt spend £600-1000
I wish it had a backlit keyboard but in this price range ticking every feature box isnt going to happen ,a backlit keyboard seems a higher end feature at pres in the current market .
This 16" does tick quite alot of boxes though and you certainly could do alot worse paying alot more .
Let us know how you get on or if you see something better .1 -
I had a look around and if you are wanting a 16" laptop with a better spec than £339.
You are looking at around £600-800 new or if you have time and good laptop model knowledge perhaps £475-550 buying used ........and are comfortable doing ebay returns .
By better spec as a example
Newer processor Ryzen or Intel or possuibly from last 2 years .
16 ram
At least 500 storage
Backlit keyboard
Either a good screen or Oled
Dell may have a alloy build and no OLED but others like Asus with a plastic build may have a good Oled screen.
