Looking to buy a new laptop as mine won't even upgrade to Windows 10.  Where can I get offers on a wide Asus (i guess 12 or 15 inch with a wide keyboard) or HP laptop.  Between £300-600  ?  Old one has a cd rom.  Shall I get one of these?

My laptop doesn't have a cd rom drive and I can't remember the last time I used a cd rom in my pc.

I bought a USB DVD drive to use with my laptop for about £20, it's rarely used but occasionally comes in handy.
If you want a large laptop  then a 12" isn't going to fit the bill, you need to be looking at 15" or bigger (I use a 14" for portability, most devices with a 15.6" screen seem to be significantly larger and heavier).

I have a Dell Inspiron 16" which I bought a few years ago from the Dell Outlet Store - it was 'as new'

Got my last laptop from here, https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/custom-laptops/. Had it a year today actually. Really good service and have had no problems. My son also got his very expensive top-of-the-line gaming computer from here at the end of 2021 and it is still going strong after very heavy use.

    What's stopping you upgrading?

Takes some time to look through present and expired deals but its a good overview .
With 300-600 you can get a few bells and whistles at the upper end of your budget .
Alot depends on what spec or features are important and if your willing to pay for them .
Check out the two recently expired Asus1605  16" deals as the cheaper £274 deal is available at £339 today.

Just been in Curry's.  Apparently I upgraded to 8 and my computer won't allow Windows 10.  Will Teams work on Windows 8?

Feel free to browse in Currys, but when it comes to parting with your hard earned money avoid them like the plague.

Take a look at the Dell Outlet site.

Just checked the main Dell website and they also have some good deals on the Inspiron range.
