Even if there's no entitlement once he claims his state pension, it will still be worth claiming UC in the meantime. Once his state pension starts if your UC is reduced to zero after 6 months then it will just close.
So if we go ahead and claim UC this month are we saying leave UC open and he applys for his state pension in july or earlier, will he then get his state pension through or will they deduct it from UC as we have left it open or just close it before he applys for SP.
Your husband will get his pension paid separately.
UC will deduct the full pension amount in the UC calculation. If there is no remaining UC payable then the claim will automatically close after 6 months.0 -

In the meantime assuming we go ahead and claim UC , what kind of estimate payment would we get monthly for couple with a child then how much is deducted from my wages (all, half, quarter ) to give me us a rough idea what to expect ... Thanks for all you help and info..0 -

It's impossible to say how much you would get without knowing your net earnings, how often you are paid, age of your child etc. Does your husband have any earnings currently or claiming any other benefits like ESA?
Are you currently getting working tax credits ? if so I don't quite understand how you qualify for those if only working 20 hours as I thought the couples hours needed were 24.0 -
There won't be anything deducted from any earnings you receive. As you have a child on your claim then you will be entitled to the work allowance. As you're not claiming for help with any rent then your work allowance will be £631/month, increasing to £673/month when benefits increase. It means you can receive the much earnings each month before you will see the 55% deduction in your UC.
Using a benefits calculator will give you some idea what you maybe entitled to, providing you put the correct information into it.0 -

The OP might not appreciate that that will happen.0 -

So you mentioned if UC is reduced to zero after 6 months it will close , so what is the benefit of leaving it open, if we get zero entitlement each month are we still allowed the benefits of dental, glasses etc ,and do you still have a savings limit even though you get zero entitlement if not what is the point of leaving it open.. would just like to .. Thanks
