I've heard camping is popular and cheaper.
You cannot afford the cruise.

Judging from previous posts, the OP has previously been bankrupt. Now they want to pay for an £8k holiday on a credit card with no means to repay it.
Some people just never learn.2 -
I cannot fathom why anyone would pay £8k for a holiday! I'm in Tenerife right now self catering and the whole holiday will come in less than £800 including all spending money. I pay for flights and accommodation on a credit card of course, to get S75 protection but I can pay off the statement in full. As it happens I have 15 months 0% on spending right now on one of my CC so two of hotels and flights for this year are on it bit they'll be cleared by end of the yr max, well before the end of the 0% period.
CC limits £26000
Long term CC debt £0
Total low rate loan debt £3000
Almost debt free feeling, priceless.
Ex money nightmare, learnt from my mistakes and never going back there again, in control of my finances for the first time in my adult life and it feels amazing.1 -

That's because you're paying for it yourself, so you stick within your budget
If you have a habit of not paying your debts, it gives you a much bigger budget to play with.6 -
Another point to remember here is that while your Credit Profile will now longer show defaults etc after 6 years.
Any Provider that has got burned & written off funds.
WILL keep this on internal files.. No time limit here.
So you can guess the result.Life in the slow lane0 -

Well, I'd love to go on something like this trip (https://www.naturetrek.co.uk/tours/west-papua-a-birds-of-paradise-special ) to see Birds of Paradise in Papua New Guinea. Sadly, I haven't got 8k lying around so I'll just have to get a new credit cardgive it a miss, unfortunately.1 -
I don't think you should listen to your girlfriend on this. I am struggling with you being super tight fisted and willing to borrow £8k for a holiday.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards.
