Hi, I have just received the exact same call and searched online and found this thread.
Out of curiosity, what make/model of gas meter do you have? There are one or two which are prone to failure. Forum regular @MeteredOut had one.
As Gerry says above, you can always call MPAAS direct on their published number.

  • I got a 2 calls and 2 emails. Managed to get through to EDF on the phone after a wait and the advise is that there is no meter fault recorded on their system.  I didnt press about MPAAS but at least I know that if EDF dont have a fault notification, there is no way that  EDF would have contacted a third party

Just got a text from EDF saying my smart meter (which one?) isn't working and MPAAS will contact me to arrange a fix. This came from a mobile number 07980 589950 which does appear to be valid when I found it on EDF's own website as the number they use for customer services text and whatsapp messages.

However, there is nothing wrong with either of my smart meters, at least according to my IHD, and I only got an updated monthly bill 3 days ago.

So even if MPAAS do call, I will probably ignore the call.

Send a message to EDF, email or WhatsApp, and ask them to confirm. It could be something as simple as your smart gas meter indicating its battery is low.
