I wouldn't want to send original photo ID so call to see if they accept photocopy.  Even with photocopy I'd be concerned about sending this information via regular mail so maybe use Special Delivery

If you put in a complaint to them, they have a right to check you are who you say you are and whether you have a legitimate complaint e.g. not trying to get money for someone else's deal

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

I had a response from them saying they couldn't answer me as my email address didn't match their records and I needed to login to my finance account and update my details

Not just a right but its actually a requirement that they check.

I’ve had this email today. I’ve sent them a photo of my drivers license .
They wanted the agreement number as well but couldn’t find it. It’s was 2008 when I took the agreement out, so will just wait and see.

  • Thanks everyone - will send a photo copy of my driving licence
  • I have send them a copy of my drivers license, in reply i got same message again that they couldn’t validate my claim without Reg Number, address history and valid id documents.

Provided it all and got same automated reply.

    What can I do now?
