Approved used car - manufacturer warranty

From what you've said, it should be covered by the manufacturers warranty, unless it's accident damaged of course. You need to ask the dealer why the repair has been declined and if you disagree with them, get on to Audi UK customer services.0

You need to check with Audi but from what I read, Audi Approved Used come with 12 months warranty.
Approved Plus Used have 24 months warranty. (you have to buy it on their Solutions finance for this)
Used Cars > Audi UK
The standard manufacturers warranty is 2 years unlimited mileage and a further year capped to 60,000 miles.
Warranty > Owners > Audi UK
I suspect the car might be outside it's original manufacturers warranty for some reason.
Perhaps due to mileage or missed servicing requirements or it might be Audi being mean and the approved warranty cancelled the original out, but you need to talk to Audi about that.
It could just be the dealer has mentioned there "could" be a diagnostic fee payable, if the problem isn't covered by the warranty.
Giving customers this heads up over a possible fee is pretty common these days before they start any warranty work.
If they find the problem is not covered under the warranty, you'll pay for the time so far and you can't say you didn't know!

buzzbuddy said:Date first registered new 21 12 2021. Purchased Feb 2022. Mileage sub 20K. Thanks for the links. Does that mean the 12mo approved used warranty (presumably from date of purchase) replaces the 3 year manufacturer from date new?
No, the 12mo approved used warranty simply runs alongside any remaining manufacturer warranty. But since the original warranty is far better, that's not a real issue.
It SHOULD be covered, then.0 -
Thanks everyone. I'll ask my son to pursue this further and let you know where we get to. If not under warranty then I think the dealer should have made this very clear and documented the reason otherwise feels like misselling.0

Audi sold in the UK have a three year warranty from new but the manufacturer only provides the first two years, the third year is underwritten by Audi UK, a separate entity from the manufacturer.Signature on holiday for two weeks0

Can't see a reason why they won't cover under warranty - unless it's damaged, or missed servicing. Has he asked them why as it sounds strange?0
