‘Buyers’ gone silent. What’s going on?

  • To be fair, I think their buyers waiting 2 months to hear if the sellers had found somewhere is probably more stressful to the buyers. We have been very conscious that our buyer is a FTB, so we made sure we found somewhere pretty quick - less than 3 weeks. They can be a very jittery breed. We've kept them updated through our EA. All looks good at the moment.

Depends where the buyers are at - if they've had surveys done etc. they might just be sounding off in frustration. If they've nowhere to live in a couple of months, you can maybe understand why.
Definitely, I had a similar situation with the house we just bought, we accepted an offer on Halloween for our house from FTB's that were in rented accommodation, we had an offer accepted on our new home on 2nd Nov. Nov and Dec went by and my seller didn't put an offer in anywhere else, Jan started to pass and the sellers would agree to go into rented and then start waivering and this went on and I had push matters because we needed complete and let our buyers in before we lost them because there was plenty of chain free houses on the market. It could have been good knows how many months before the sellers finally got somewhere - we moved this Monday and sellers still hasn't offered anywhere and went into rented.

    Any news ?
It was a long few weeks, which ended with  the prospective buyers finally getting back in touch with the agent a few days after returning from holiday. They said having explored all financial options they had to pull out of the purchase.

Their property was remarketed and very fortunately they got a chain-free cash buyer within a day, so it’s all back on track as before. Fingers crossed 😊
