Onmo credit card - anyone else finding them awful

Hi All, first time posting on here. Currently starying out rebuilding my credit after past mistakes, will be default and CCJ free by August next year. Anyway was recently accepted for the Omno credit card and it looked ok at first, decent limit not planning to go mad and max it out, just use about 30 percent per month and pay it off each time. So after 4 months said card has tonight been cut up and thrown away, interest seems to be added whenever they want, sometimes several times a month, set up a direct debit to pay them off in full each month, never collected and having to pay it myself via card payment in the app, been charged a late fee on one occasion despite paying on time every month, eventually refunded after a complaint and the guy I spoke to actually put this in the chat "we will refund you as you seem switched on, most people never pipe up lol" very unprofessional to say the least, not sure if anyone else has had a bad experience with this lot or have I just been unfortunate. ? Now going to give it a couple of months so am six months between credit applications then look for another credit builder card.

There are quite a few one-star reviews on Trustpilot

Sounds like the company needs a bit of work before anyone should use them
  • The reality of having a Onmo credit card is:

    1. Most of the high reviews are not based on experience, because new customers are pressured to making a quick review for the following reason: Onmo gives a new customer a few days to write a review on Trustpilot in return for a voucher. This is an unethical way of going about things. The reality of the reviews should be an average of 1-2 stars.
    2. Onmo's customer service is the worst I have experienced by ANY company or organisation in my lifetime. They make HMRC look exceptional. You do not get a reply on their app. You are lucky to get someone to deal with your issue by email. After a dozen messages on the app and five or six via email, I eventually received a call from them. A lady, who was in a rush by the way told me she would ring me again a week later to receive an update from me and to issue me with a good will gesture. This did not happen.
    3. My card cannot be used on the Sainsburys online shopping. I informed Onmo of this was too many times to remember.

Please do not use them, even though you might feel you will accepted. Be patient and wait for the opportunity to be accepted by a respected credit card company, it will be better for you in the long run.
