Hi. Please can anyone advise me about a problem I have with this travel company?
I have had my return flights with Excel Airways to Mallorca booked with this company since February, fully paid for since the 2nd April. Our holiday starts next saturday the 25th, 8 days away and I havn't yet got the tickets even though I have phoned and faxed and emailed them daily since last Saturday.
According to their confirmation invoice the tickets should be aproximately 21 days prior to departure.
They have not answered any of my enquires No answer by phone other than an automated voice telling me how important it is for me to hold on and how important my call is to them . . Oh yer? That's why I hung on for 52 mins yesterday, all I got for my pains was the sound of godawful music on a loop (scream) But still no real person to talk to!!! I'm at my wits end now because this morning I put my reference number into their web site and got an automated reply saying they have no record of my booking!!
I have contacted ABTA but they can't even put my details into the system until next week because they are so busy.
I really would appreciate some advice so what do you think I should do?
Should I wait until next week and see if ABTA can contact this company? Or should I assume the company are in breach of their contract with me and book another flight pdq? Then fight them later for the return of the £360 quid they've got of my money.
What do you think?

Any chance you can call into their offices? Don't know if you're local to them or not, of course, but it's what I'd do if I could ...Signature removed for peace of mind0

Have you tried e-mailing them at enquiry@travelrepublic.co.uk or if you are hanging on and on calling there 0845 no, there geographical no is 0208 9747 200.PF.0

Hi. Still no tickets in this morning's post although I have a letter from ABTA confirming receipt of my fax . . . So at least someone is getting my faxes!
S_Sue. Well, I live in East Yorkshire so unfortunately I can't just call in, although believe me I have thought about it!
Pricefighter. I have emailed them, a zillion times! But thank you for their telephone number, that's sooooo great . . . I'll be on to that as soon as they open this morning . . You're a star!!

Well that bad feeling in my stomach just got worse!!!
I tried the land line phone number and got the same automated voice giving me a choice of options . . . . Then whichever option I pressed, I got cut off!!
I do believe it's time to find another flight!

The 0845 number just piggy backs on to the geo number i gave you hence the same response.Try ringing it after 10am today as there could be a fault on there switches announcement system.
An address search shows 2 other travel companies operating from that address Meridianline Travel and Online Florida.They have a different call centre which is open from 10am today.The numbers for them are
01342 719747 or 01342 719767 hopefully someone there can help you,or at least give you a direct line no that can assist you.

From my searches i've discovered these 3 companies are one and the same!!! But I will keep trying the numbers you've provided me with but I have to say I am pretty despondent now . . . Aint got much hope left I can tell you.
I've faxed Excel Airlines this morning but I suppose they won't be there until Monday . . . Dare I wait that long before booking another flight?
What really annoys me is that Travel Republic are still taking bookings on line from other poor saps like me!
Anyone live in Kingston upon Thames out there who can nip round and knock on their door? I'm clutching at the proverbial straws here!

Just a quick update from me.
Well, finally thanks to you pricefighter, I've actually spoken to a real life person, not an automated machine this morning at Travel Republic.
Unfortunately though, she couldn't help me much because she is only there to take reservations. (so she said) However she did say that they were having problems with getting the tickets out and she would get her manager to ring me on Monday.
So it's wait and see time for now but come Monday and no response then i'm booking alternative flights . . .

Did you pay with Credit Card.IF you dont (and I hope you do) get your tickets then the C.C company are jointly liable and should refund you.0

Yes budgetflyer I did pay by credit card. I havn't thought that far ahead yet but it's useful information should it come to that so thanks for this information.
It's not just a holiday ya know, it's also my parents Golden Wedding celebrations which is why i'm getting so worried about not gettin there in time.Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.0 -
Here's an update.
I received an email at 11.22am from ABTA telling me they'd been in touch with Travel Republic.
Lo and behold at 11. 45 am I had a phone call from them telling me that my tickets should be posted out today!! Gave me some !!!! and bull story about not realising they hadn't had the flight tickets for the 25th. Got all the other dates upto the 1st July but not for my date. Why do I not believe it eh? For a start I do not believe we are the only people without the flight tickets for that day, do you? But, hey ho . . . . They are posting them out to me today.
I'm not rejoicing just yet but at least i've had a result from contacting ABTA.Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.0
