Yeah, we've never really been into eating out but I do like at least one meal out if we can. It just gives us the time to spend some time together, everything always seems to be so hectic with drama, school clubs and then work.0 -
Where’s time gone!
it has been a while since any sort of update but there’s not really been much going off financially. All seems to be ticking along nicely, although we are saving for a new cooker which will be May’s big expense.
This week has been playing a bit of catchup as last week Thursday, Friday and then Monday ( also Tuesday due to my own reasons 😆) where pretty much a right off on work front.Had an amazing bank holiday where I finally got to use my Xmas gift - a trial flying lesson which was everything I imagined and more - especially the fly over view of the Peak District. If I add in some family time and a football promotion celebration it was a fun but costly weekend 😂
Food budget and petrol budget are slowly creeping up to empty but should be covered until payday next week.Hope everyone had an amazing bank holiday2 -

Hope everyone had a good weekend, and managed to enjoy some of the lovely weather. Today I managed to finally cut the grass, I hope this year we can start making more of it.
Last week of food budget used today and a few days of petrol left to see me through to payday. Work is a shorter week this week as I have Friday booked of as I am away for Friday/Saturday.
Hope everyone has a good week1 -
Morning MSE world.
Today is payday 🙌. There was a little extra in pay this month due to some overtime and also rolled into payday with some of May’s bills already covered which is good.
petrol worked out slightly above target, but have done more work travel this month
food budget came in just under budget
eating out was another month of an higher then normal spend. I really need to allocate this in properly
busy day at work as I’m off Friday as I’m away for football for a few days, so cramming a busy week into 3 days really as I was out of office yesterday.

What an amazing weekend that was! Spent few days away with the lads for football - spendy, and over-eaten ha but good times.
Not updated savings for a while - we have finally hit over £1k in various pots, moved some of around to get Emergency Fund to my 1st mini target of £500, next goal is £750, really happy to be in a good place with savings as not something I am used to, although the London pot will soon be used. I think the emergency fund would cover any instance that could arise, as we rent so repairs are covered by council.
Pots Balance - 05.05.2025
Emergency Funds - £500
London 2025 - £400 (Due to go away in July)
Car Maintenance - £100
Xmas 2025 - £17 - this isn't really a priority right now to be honest.
This month I have used some of my personal funds to purchase some supplements to include stuff to hopefully improve sleep and iron levels. I have also started going back to the gym, going to take some time to get into routine but will get there.
I hope everyone's had a good bank holiday weekend so far.4 -
Monday again.
Hope everyone has had a good weekend, what a great weekend of weather we have had. It has been a lot more relaxed than last weekend for sure ha. I cut the grass and spent what felt like forever putting up a trampoline for little one, which she then proceeded to spend 10 mins on...oh the joys 😂. She spent all day on it Sunday to be fair to her.
We have finally got our cooker in place, we have survived so long with the ninja but it was time to get the cooker in place, the simple pleasure of a nice pizza.
I am starting to slowly get my sleep pattern in shape and getting into bed at a decent time, and waking up pretty much without alarm, although trying to convince myself out of bed and to the gym is an whole different challenge. Also feeling a bit rubbish and wishing I had just booked a nice simple holiday this year - we were adamant we were going to go back to Spain this year and then ended up booking US. I know by time our time comes around we will be so excited but seems forever away and I want sun and beach time now haha.3 -
We've utilised some of the London savings to purchase the theatre tickets. £158 spent, but £78 of that will be coming back to us as we bought tickets for family. We will continue topping up this fund. We do still have to buy train tickets & hotel booking which I am hoping to sort at the weekend.0
