My last trip to London we stayed in an air bnb with a bus stop 1 min walk away - saved us a fortuneSealed pot challenge 822

I think we are potentially going to look at staying somewhere within easy public transport links into London. The cost difference by doing this would be well worth it.0

Evening All, hope everyone has had a good weekend.
How is it March already!. I haven't sat and gone through the budget yet, but February felt like a decent month finance wise. I paid a bit extra to the debt and also plaid a bit extra to the big holiday. We did also end up buying the bookcase, it was on offer so just got it.
Today I did a few tip runs and got rid of some of the build up of cardboard, our bin collections have been a bit rubbish lately and this has meant that we had more than we normally would. Also managed to get rid of some of the junk hanging around. It has been a pretty relaxed weekend other than that. Tomorrow I need to do the food shopping so need to do a plan for that, and then top up petrol. I do have some work expenses to catch up on as well.
Work is still a bit of a mixed bag, I am feeling like I am learning so much, but there is also still some real challenges. I am not sure whether this is a me mindset thing or whether the job is just not for me. I have been offered a new job that I have been considering, that job is more in the field I have the knowledge and I suspect is going to be less stressful. However its 12k less a year ( still will be a decent salary that we have survived on before ) but in my mind its just such a massive drop. When I was speaking to a family member about it they were like ' do you hate your current job that much that its worth losing 12k a year' and that kinda put it in perspective a bit.
Monzo is now at £200
The main thing to try get rid of is the CC has the interest is just killing me and at this rate is going to take so long to pay off.

This week to do
Complete work expenses
Review budget and pots
Do more de-cluttering ready for tip again next week, hoping that if I can do bits at a time it will make a difference
In other finance news my car insurance has dropped in price on the renewal, but on doing comparison I can get it cheaper. I am hoping I can have enough to be able to pay in full this year, which would be a nice place to be at. I can then work on putting a small amount away each month.

Good morning and happy Monday.
All usual direct debits have left my account with exception of council tax and broadband (but the money is in bills pot ready). I have topped up my savings pots with £285 - this covers the em.fund, car repairs, Xmas, London.Today is food shop day so will do that after work. Here’s hoping for a good week. I have a few meetings in my diary but mainly hoping for an admin catchup / review day to see progress on my upcoming jobs.
I hope everyone has a good week2 -
hope everyone had a good Tuesday.
Food shop never got completed yesterday as ended up getting caught up at work, I did do a quick shop for a few bits we needed for mine and little ones packed lunches.
Today has been another productive day, got a bit frantic towards the end of the day and I have asked the other company for a few days to think over the position. There is quite a lot of onboarding to do if I chose to accept (including full employment history). I have started to go through budget and we look pretty good this month, hopefully Friday i can make an overpayment to CC or Monzo. The plan is to pay monzo off this month.
Tomorrow is pretty much a meetings day, but also got parents evening so going to pretty long day as I am also starting a little early to fulfil a client meeting which I will do from home (who has meetings at 7am! ha).
The bookshelf has been put up and already makes a huge difference, getting this room done and cleared will be a great step. We aren't blessed with the most space but slowly seeing it come together is nice.2 -
Happy midweek, wow my body was not happy at the early start today 😂.
Another day down and all in all another productive day. I started on Sunday trying to plan work stuff a different way and so far it seems to be working pretty well. There is still a backlog of stuff I am playing catch up but I am kinda learning new stuff each day and that is making other stuff better.
I did manage to somehow drop my trousers into my morning coffee so that was a fun start to my day. My plan tonight is to have dinner and relax, we had parents evening and due to three traffic accidents around my route home we were late - luckily so was the teacher - so today I am thankful for the fact the teacher is as crap at timing as me 🤣.
Tomorrow is a quieter day in theory but I am going to sit with boss and try go over a few things, someone has left the business and I suspect I might possibly take some of that work so that will be interesting.1 -
