Do you have one of the old mechanical meters or a digital one with an lcd screen?
If the mechanical one does it run backwards if you are exporting? This is technically incorrect but likely better off than an SEG at current unit prices…1 -

We have both. The old mechanical one and a new digital one that just records what the solar is up to.
