Broadband deals

Hi my Broadband contact Fibre 65 with TalkTalk ends in May and I only pay £22.84 a month and it includes anytime calls. So when I got an offer to renew for £25 per month I thought that sounds good. But then digging into it if I renewed now I'd pay £25 next month and then in April they add those nasty in contract price rises 4% CPI + 3.7% = 7.7% takes the cost to £29.93/month! So cynically were TalkTalk trying to get me to sign up before Ofcom outlaw the in contract price rises in Spring? I'm going to wait to see what happens closer to my contract end any hints to who has the best deals are welcome. Tried the MSE Broadband tool but given that I can get a TalkTalk fixed deal for £27/month nothing came near the closest comparable was £35.50/month. So I'm bracing myself for a hike but hoping to limit it. Can't help thinking that there's some profiteering going on as someone who worked in IT technology normally get better and cheaper over time.

It would go up to just under £27 , ( £25 increased by 7.7% = £26.93 ) which for broadband (80Mb ) and anytime calls is pretty good .

OFCOM aren't banning in-contract price increases. They are stipulating that the increase must described in £ and not as a %
