Unknown to me when I took this job in October I was walking into the middle of a family fallout.  I was replacing a spouse who walked out after a fallout.  The sibling in question is the HR person, she has cut our hours etc and the other siblings seem powerless to do anything even though we're busier than ever and all feeling the stress now due to reduced hours, she seems to be on a mission to make things fail to get her spouse reinstated and if that happens I am out the door.

I have been searching and applying to the point of obsession and It's affecting my mental health now all with zero joy I might add which I think just makes the situation feel even more hopeless, if I was even getting interviews mightn't be so bad but it's hardly surprising really as I am applying for anything and everything in desperation really as there's damn all in my field.

Not sure how to handle this !!!!!! show Any advice is appreciated.
With less that two years service there is little you can do about this apart from accepting the new hours or resigning. If you resign you could insist on being paid for the originally agreed hours until the end of your notice period.

There are legal requirements regarding pensions and if they are not being met you would have a claim for any resulting losses.

Small family firms can be difficult to work for as family always comes first.
