    As the embankment is a railway line ,report it to Network Rail they will have teams who will check it out quite quick and if need be push for any repair that needs done.

    Unless I've got the wrong location, the railway line is about 100m away and there is a grazing field inbetween, so I don't think it is a Network Rail issue. (which is a shame because as you say they would be on it very quickly if it was)

    Not sure how close the railway line is, maybe it is further away
