First time buyer if I received a divorce settlement from a property I was not a joint owner of?

I was divorced recently and received a settlement following the sale of the marital home, which I was not a joint owner of. I.e. never listed on the mortgage, deeds, etc. I am now trying to buy a home with the assistance of a LISA, and my solicitor is querying whether I am indeed classed as a first time buyer. None of the information on LISAs I found online mentions this scenario. All the guidance relates to buy to let or inheritance. Does anyone have any insight or has anyone been through this?

There was some discussion here

However, I'd say that it is up to the solicitor whom you are paying for services rendered to clarify this point for you.
