Forced into it

When I moved to Sky over 2 years ago they forced me into a voip phone. Lost all extensions. Phone is stuck within 1 mtr of router. Had to buy hands free extension kits.

    Is there a question?
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

Did you make enquiries before switching over?

So you took an FTTP broadband and phone service from Sky which meant you had to move to their Digital Voice service?

No one would have forced you to take this service at that stage, as OpenReach had not put a stopsell order on exchanges then.

If you now have hands free extensions, assume this is cordless DECT phones then you wouldn't need the now defunct wired extensions.

Is this just some sort of belated rant?

Sorry, but there is no "forced into it" here.

You chose a full fibre service that only offered a VoIP phone service and didn't do your research regarding how the internal system in your home would be affected.

This is coming to us all eventually.

You can wire your old sockets to the new FTTP system:

    DIY or pay someone.

    Forced, yeah, doubt that somehow.

I suspect what's more likely to have happened here is you saw the price (or a renewal price) and didn't read any of the documentation that would probably have told you you would lose your phone line.
