Olio banning users incorrectly?

TheEndIsNear said:This is the second time it has happened to me! Once last year when I was wrongly accused of offering out of date food. I had to fight and show them proof that I never did that, I they reinstated me, with no apology. I left Olio and deleted my account. I started again this year, and I got banned again last week. I had 5 stars reviews, shared widely, followed the rules. I did not have 2 accounts as the the last one was deleted. I sent an e-mail explaining the situation, and they are ignoring me. They have zero respect for their volunteers who work hard and make them money. They treat them like Amazon treats their employees, with contempt, like they are disposable.1

There is a big drive on atm to recruit more volunteers, I think the goal is another 10,000 nationally! No man is worth crawling on this earth.

Not sure how this will work, time will tell:

That yellow sticker bit looks very like Gander which can be rather hit and miss with its accuracy especially in places with bad WiFi. Also just because it's in the shop at 11.35 when you check the app, doesn't mean it will be there 2 minutes later !1

Is this still happening for anyone? I have been FWH for 3 years alongside my mum. We worked as a team but only did collections under one name on any night. We were the main FWHs for our area and I was the Squad Captain at 5 stores and put huge amounts of energy into reporting bad behaviour, supporting new FWHs and those new to using the app to request, promoting Olio at every opportunity including on social media, giving to homeless, and we proudly never had to bin a single item of food. We did 5 nights a week and it gave me some confidence and pride when I have never been able to work due to severe autism, mental and physical illness. I needed my mums support and she couldn’t manage it totally on her own either. We have just had our accounts removed. I was told I had multiple accounts. For DWP purposes I am considered a separate household but for Olio we used the same front door of my parents for people to collect from to avoid confusion. What we really did wrong unwittingly though was to request one or at the most two, items from each other instead of keeping it not listing it. I understand that those on their own wouldn’t have this opportunity but I understood wrongly that they should list everything and just mark as picked up their maximum 10% allowance.I am utterly devastated and distraught. I feel ashamed and demoralised and I have been convicted of something I spent hours trying to combat and report- willful abuse of the system. We shared with more people that anyone else in our area and I just can’t believe it’s all over without any human considering our particular situation. I also can’t believe it’s a permanent lifetime ban without any opportunity to even have one account between us or have my mum’s identity recognised or to have a non-FWH account. I now feel very desperate (Olio had kept me going in my darkest moments). My mum and I had even decided that should I end my life it would be fitting to use Olio to give away my food and non-food possessions.0

Thank you Rosa. I feel like there’s no point going on now. There have lesser or more temporary suspensions for deliberate violations. We were the biggest FWHs in our area and covered slots no one else would do. We never had to bin anything and shared so widely and advocated for Okio at every opportunity. Now I feel so sick and that they are an appalling organisation. I have lost all my identity and worth and feel shame I shouldn’t feel1
