Destination2-Making an amendment less than 24 hours

Hi All,
Does anyone have any experience dealing with this company? We stupidly booked a holiday with them at 8 o'clock last night and realised this morning that the hotel we've booked doesn't serve alcohol -which was not mentioned on their website so were therefore looking to change the hotel. Having called them this morning the customer service (Shauna) told me she couldnt get through to the hotel to check if there was a cancellation fee. My deposit is still pending however according to destination 2 they take 72 hours to confirm the booking. The hotel I want to change is £50 cheaper on their website and ideally I don't want to have to pay more especially given that I have notified them less that 24 hours..what are my options??
Thank you in advance

Look at the terms and conditions about both changes and when the contract is formed. Whilst you are there, double check where they are based to see how easy enforcing your rights may be.
Can't actually find a functioning website under that brandname0 -
Deposit pending is not going to make any difference. It is a guaranteed form of payment. So you can't stop it debiting.Life in the slow lane0

Here are their terms and conditions. Depends to some extent how you booked.DullGreyGuy said:Look at the terms and conditions about both changes and when the contract is formed. Whilst you are there, double check where they are based to see how easy enforcing your rights may be.

They've edited their post, they originally stated it was Destination2Go for which I could only find a partially developed website which was non-functional and T&Cs was just holding text.silvercar said:

Would you mind telling us the name and location of this establihment that doesn't serve alcohol - so we can avoid it ?I've never heard of Temperance hotels in tourist destinations

It can be an issue in mainland Male, whereas the Maldives atoll resorts serve alcohol. It can also be an issue during Ramadan in some Middle East countries.NoodleDoodleMan said:Would you mind telling us the name and location of this establihment that doesn't serve alcohol - so we can avoid it ?I've never heard of Temperance hotels in tourist destinations

It's funny because there have been lots of adverts and press coverage recently for the new luxury tourist zone being built in Saudi Arabia but all of them are silent on the topic of alcohol. Obv the country is famous for alcohol being illegal but has promised alcohol would be allowed if they won their bid for the World Cup so it's not as if there is no precedent.NoodleDoodleMan said:Would you mind telling us the name and location of this establihment that doesn't serve alcohol - so we can avoid it ?
Unfortunately it also makes me feel a bit of an alcoholic if it's a notable decision factor in if I will go or not.0 -
I don't see why it should.DullGreyGuy said:

We like a glass of wine at home with a nice meal (obvs not with egg'n'chips
) and don't see why we couldn't have the same on holiday, especially if it's a high class hotel. 0 -
And why not egg'n'chips? There's a Dog'n'Bubbles restaurant that specialises in hotdogs and champagne, even has pairing suggestions. I fear you are missing out.Pollycat said:

I should have twigged the Islamic culture aspect - wasn't thinking along those lines.silvercar said:
