Sounds like you did this perfectly. I think she should sign the defence in her new name and put underneath her signature:

    New name

    née Oldname

    Date
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Seems like a non-issue, we jumped the gun a bit and sent the defences already.

    Header
    (Old Name) as the defendant

    At the bottom
    Signature: old name
    Date: XX/XX/XXXX

We have no mention of this 'new' name on the defence docs, I don't see this being an issue though - I suspect if anything they may come back and ask to update if necessary?

You were correct in now giving them the preferred newer details,  it's still the same defendant,  same person,  same entity , your wife

The biggest problem here has been you muddying the waters,  it's not your case,  so the only things that you do is assist the defendant,  same as we are doing  ( you can help her, but you cannot take over  , it's nothing to do with you,  other than you being family and want to help her   )

This is exactly what I have been doing, assisting her. I haven't done anything to muddy the waters I don't believe - she's done the work with my clarifying and double checking here.

If you study your replies you have indicated that you are the Defendant,  such as stating " My defence " etc

You stated that you emailed businesses to try to transfer liability,  but only the keeper can do that,  so it failed

There are probably other things too, but its your partner that is defending the case, not you, so nothing in your name

But the main point is that the correct person has officially dealt with the process, despite various failings

Notice of Proposed Allocation to the Small Claims Track received today asking for the wife to file an N180 by 22 April 2025.

She will fill out the online version and email it to the DQ email and also CC the legals for ECP.

Life has been busy, she's filled this and sent it off today as well as our other parking fine.
She nominated me for the mediation call as she's a carer, during work hours the phone is a no go zone.

MCOL isn't showing the Defendant DQ. My wife submitted both DQ's for both (this PCN and the current UKPC one) at the same time via separate emails of course with the relevant claim # in each of the subject fields, the UKPC has updated on MCOL but not this ECP one.

Both N180's were sent to the DQ email and the relevant legal emails (listed below) on April 18, 2025

    to:dq.cnbc@justice.gov.uk
    cc:info@dcblegal.co.uk

However for ECP it shows the following notes:
    Case Stay Lifted on 03/04/2025

DQ sent to you on 03/04/2025

DQ filed by claimant on 03/04/2025

I thought I would check in on here, as she already had the pointless 2 minute mediation call for the UKPC PCN found here:
    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/81406043#Comment_81406043

The notes on the UKPC MCOL clearly show:

DQ sent to you on 10/04/2025

DQ filed by claimant on 10/04/2025

You filed a DQ on 25/04/2025

Not sure if she should reply to the email so it gets bumped up again or if there is anything else that should be done?

She hasn't received any letters or anything since the N180 form came in the post from the CCBC.

I have read that DQ's go missing frequently, is it worth being prompt and pushing forward on this or waiting to see if she receives a letter?

Don't wait. Send it again with the email title saying

'URGENT - UNPROCESSED DIRECTIONS QUESTIONNAIRE - CLAIM NO xxxxxxx
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
