I followed these steps and there is no mention of invoking GDPR...although it mentions written commssourcrates said:Debt management works best when you plan it out beforehand.
Remember the 5 "P`s"....Pre-Planning Prevents Poor Performance.
Planning is everything, from opening new bank accounts to avoid set off, obtaining defaults through non payment, and preventing collection calls by invoking GDPR and insisting on written comm`s only.
Taking control of matters and been pre-emptive makes for a much smoother ride all round.

There is a sentence suggesting you write to the company and ask for written communications only if you don’t want them to phone you but yes we need maybe to expand on that to invoke GDPR and remove phone numbers etc.tylery said:

GDPR (General Data Protection Regulations) is the mechanism that gives you the choice of how you are contacted.
So simply tell them you want them to contact you in writing only, don`t contact me by phone, and remove my phone number from your system etc etc.
Send it all in a letter, by law they must comply.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Just to give an update. I have just received letters saying account closed on some credits cards. What is next thing now because i have been ignoring their calls. Is it time to talk to them?0

Have they defaulted the accounts as well as closing them. You will have received a letter demanding that you repay the whole sum, which has to be sent before they are allowed to add the default to the record. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing1

@sourcrates if you un-close the pinned "wannabe debt free" thread, I'll add this to the relevant post.sourcrates said:GDPR (General Data Protection Regulations) is the mechanism that gives you the choice of how you are contacted.

I'd also discussed with @enthusiasticsaver adding a post about when bailiffs might come and why house loss is unlikely for consumer debt (the steps that the creditor would need to take, the likely outcome of a court judgement - they opened the thread for me, but it was closed again before I could get round to penning it and running past yourself and @fatbelly- could you add a post about this?Statement of Affairs (SOA) link: https://www.lemonfool.co.uk/financecalculators/soa.phpFor free, non-judgemental debt advice, try: Stepchange or National Debtline.
