Delay With Change Of Provider

Hi everybody

I am due to change provider, but they have informed me that there will be a delay due to needing to upgrade their equipment at the pole.

My problem is that my old provider is due to disconnect on February 20th & the new supplier cannot now connect until March 5th.

Any suggestions to keep broadband in the meantime please.

A 4g/5g mobile wifi router modem dongle thing - depending on who has the best service coverage in your area?

As above, just buy a high data payg sim as a one-off, put in your phone and hotspot off that.
You may have to ease off the Netflix etc but we're only talking a couple of weeks. You'll still be able to Google, Facebook and Email no problem.
If the delay is not as promised, then you may be able to get a bit back but tbh, unlikely.

Just to add that if you are going to hotspot off your phone for extended hours then use an old spare phone if you have one. Lengthy hours on end use can do bad things to phone batteries and internals, killed a Moto in a week.

Thanks to all for the advice.

I spoke to a different advisor at my previous provider & they have agreed to put me onto a rolling contract until I leave. It will cost more, but at least I still have service.
