Connecting to a public wifi issue

lately we have had issues connecting to one specific public wifi. We dont have issues with any other wifi. The wifi does require a password but we already put that in ages ago and automatically connect. The problem is some days we connect ok and then on other days we get a connection failure. On the phone it says ip configuration failure. The phone keeps trying to auto connect unsuccessfully. The phone is google pixel 7. Is the issue likely to be with the wifi or with the phone and what can we do if anything?

Have you asked whoever runs the public WiFi if there's a problem?
Have you also tried "forget network" then tried reconnecting to the WiFi using the correct password?0 -

It could be lack of available ip addresses due to the number of people already connected.0

If you had asked "excuse me , I'm trying to connect to your wifi but I'm having trouble is there a problem your end?" You might have got a much more helpful response.
Like above probably too many people trying to freeload off the wifi that businesses use to entice customers in rather than people using it as their main way to connect to the net

I tried the forget network idea. It made no difference.0

I'd echo the above suggestion of using the "forget network" and try again.
In our clients office we use their "guest" network, once a week when connecting to the network it's supposed to generate a popup to accept the terms and conditions of using the service. 9 times out of 10 it works as it should, and always works on my iPhone but occasionally on my laptop it doesn't trigger the popup and it shows as connected but with no Internet.
Tried a few different things but none triggered the popup, using the forget the network and reregistering on it however does and then get another weeks access before the next spin of the roulette wheel.0 -
