@Coupon-mad Thank you loads!! That definitely looks a lot better already. I will now email my defence.🤞0
-
In the body of the email tell the CNBC about the new address for service, as they won't read the defence.
You must insist they and DCB Legal erase the old address immediately. Do a specific email to DCB Legal's DPO to insist.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

@Coupon-mad - Many thanks. Most certainly.1

Hi Everyone,
I have now received an email from DCB Legal and their directions questionnaire. I think I may have accidentally forwarded my defence to DCB Legal too when asking them to remove my old address. Possibly the reason I would have received an email from them directly?
I believe I will now wait for directions questionnaires from the court.0 -
That's normal. Yes wait for your DQ.
You need to go back to the second post in the NEWBIES thread to familiarise yourself with what happens when so you are well prepared.

Will do! Many thanks!1

Further to the above, I had submitted my DQ too in time.I was gobsmacked to receive a letter titled 'Judgment for Claimant (in default) dated 10 June 24' today for not replying to the claim form, even though I have proof of Acknowledgement of Service (AOS) dated 8 Feb 24 and 'Acknowledgement of receipt of defence' dated 26 Feb 24 from the court. I can see that to set aside the judgment, I'd have to submit an N244 form and pay £275 court fees. Surely, this has to be an administrative error, or am I missing something here?2

And on 29 February you showed us an email from DCBLegal that states that they had received your Defence.
The only way that could happen is if the CNBC had received your Defence and forwarded a copy to the Claimant.
Nothing but carelessness by the CNBC. Sadly, we have seen this exact problem before.
Do not even think about paying any money to get this resolved. HMC&TS should be paying you compensation for their mismanagement.4 -
Obviously email & phone the CNBC and make merry hell. We keep seeing this utter incompetence from them.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Many thanks @KeithP @Coupon-mad. I have emailed CNBC on 13 June and I'm waiting to hear back from them.I will call them this week as well. While I understand that mistakes can happen, I certainly didn't expect this from the courts, especially at this level. It's quite alarming to see that such errors occur frequently.3
