EasyJet Holidays unable to provide breakdown of costs for cancelled trip 🧐

Hi,
I had to cancel an easyJet holiday due to coronavirus in December.
I had to cancel an easyJet holiday due to coronavirus in December.
My insurance claim has been denied because easyJet cannot provide a breakdown of costs.
My insurance company need the separate costs of: Flights, TFC’s, Hotel and transfers.
However easyJet holidays can only provide the total package price.
Has anyone else been in this situation, or have any idea how to get this resolved?
Thanks in advance 😇

I don't think it's unusual for package holidays to be priced as a bundle rather than individually-priced components, so I can see why EasyJet might be unable to provide a breakdown - what are TFCs by the way?
Has your insurer indicated why they're seeking that though? Travel insurance claims will often work on the basis of reimbursing only items that can't be recovered elsewhere, so I can see the argument that if there's anything you can get a refund for (taxes such as air passenger duty perhaps?) from EasyJet then they might expect you to do that, or at least refuse to cover it themselves. Have EasyJet supplied a cancellation invoice confirming that you needed to cancel the holiday and that you weren't entitled to any refund?1 -

Thanks for your reply, by TFC’s I meant taxes, fees and charges 🤓
EasyJet have refunded the costs of the seats, and have also provided a cancellation invoice stating I wasn’t entitled to any other refund from them.
I agree that most if not all package holidays are ‘packaged’ into one price, so really don’t understand how this europ-assist can get away with not paying out because a breakdown isn’t available.
I also don’t understand how easyJet holidays don’t have a breakdown of how the holiday was paid.

I think the issue with package holidays is that they often don't correspond to the sum of the parts, so if, for example, a flight at £300 (if bought standalone) is combined with a hotel at £600 and transfers at £50 on the same basis, but the bundle is sold at, say, £800, then any attempt to break that price down to its components would be artificial.
However, I'd see that as the norm, so the insurer should be familiar with that, and I can't understand their approach, perhaps it's time to log a complaint with them if they refuse to budge?1 -
It sounds like Europ Assist have not grasped the fact that you had booked a PACKAGE holiday. No package holiday provider will break-down the individual components of a true package holiday trip.
Easyjet Holidays will provide a cancellation invoice and that is what the insurance company would normally use as proof of non-travel and your claim. Any claim payment would be less your excess and probably the Air Passenger Duty element of the holiday. The insurance company will likely suggest you claim the APD back from Easyjet Airlines. Depending on where you were flying to this might however be a relatively small amount (£13 pp on a flight to Spain as an example) and you may not consider it worthwhile.1
