New combi boiler help

Hi peeps,
My old combi boiler is knackered and I need a replacement ASAP.
I've been told a 28kW boiler would be ideal for my 2 bed terraced.
How much is this going to set me back and where's the best place to obtain what I need etc..?
what's the labour costs? I've also been quoted about £50 to get the boiler test pass certificate..
help is much appreciated as I am truely LOST
(the plumber i've used said he would opt for a Biasi s28 - any good? and other alternatives?)

Your best bet is to get a corgi registered plumber to fit one as things can go badly wrong with a gas boiler, and a combi boiler in particular switches itself on and off quite a few times in the day si if there is a gas leak it's going to get ignited sooner or later. I would get a number of quotes for comparison and then make a choice from there.Love your son.0

Hi,
There is a test of combi boilers in the September 2007 edition of Which magazine
The Baxi Duo-tec C28HE comes out as the best buy. They also indicate that you should expect to pay £400-500 for replacing a non-condensing combi with a condensing combi in the same place.
By law you must use a CORGI registered fitter to fit the new boiler.
Best of luck0 -
definately getting a corgi guy to fit it- just thinking of best boiler and labour charges i should expect etc..{Signature removed by Forum Team - if you are not sure why we have removed your signature please contact the Forum Team}0

Hi, can anyone help me? We turned our central heating on a couple of weeks ago when it was cold. Since then, things have warmed up and we turned it off or so we thought. We turned it off on the combi boiler thing but the heaters are still on and won't go off. We are living in a sauna! Does anyone know how to fix this?
:rolleyes:xx0
