I didn't see anyone suggesting you should get a dishwasher, or that you need to justify why you don't get one.
However in the context of this thread, it was clear to other posters that your post suggested that washing up in the sink saved water rather than use a dishwasher. Therefore in case other readers might gain the same impression from your post, it is clearly valid in a money saving discussion forum to challenge that statement.
For interest this Nov 2023 Which article Which? research reveals how little water dishwashers use compared to hand-washing - Which? News states:
'Our in-depth testing has found that dishwashers are, on average, four times more water efficient than washing by hand per place setting. The most water-efficient full-sized dishwasher uses almost 10 times less water to wash the same amount of dishes as hand washing them'

An amazing number of people still hear a dishwasher running and assume that for the entire cycle, (typically 2 hours or more), it is constantly pumping in clean water and heating it. Rather than just filtering it and recirculating it.No free lunch, and no free laptop2

I moved into a new 3 bed house in 2000. Just me.
The water meter scared me.
In a 1 bed flat I was paying £30 a month, no meter.
In the house I was careful, I only flushed the loo after number 2 or at the end of the day if number one only.
Got a dishwasher that used 12l of water and used it 2 times a week.
Two washing machine loads a week.
Got water buts for the garden, had a shower fitted.
Turned it on to get wet, turned it off and soaped up, then on again to wash off.
From memory I paid £35 a month for the first year.
When the bill came in I was £100 plus in credit
The wife moved in, god help me the bill hit £50 a month.
Run the tap for 10 minutes brushing teeth.
Shower for 20 minutes, run the tap in the sink for ever just to was 2 plates etc.
The divorce was cheaper than the water bill.
