    never thought about this before, and i do like my gardening just cant afford new plants right now. must ask the local council, theres always another year coming .

    My OH used to work on for Council Landscaping many moons ago. Whenever they were pulling out the old bedding plants, pensioners would appear from all around clutching trowels and carrier bags.
    They would be there from the crack of dawn waiting to get the best ones!

    Try your local council's web site.

    They may have a "forthcoming events" page which you can keep an eye on, or possibly on their recycling pages...

    ..in any event, they'll have a contacts page so you can ask them by email. He sez... :)

  • For my daughter's wedding reception the local council were only too happy to supply large tubs filled with plants - the same as they supply to council functions. I had to discuss in advance what the main plants in each would be (some of them 7 feet high!) and they then added to that to fill each tub.The cost was very very reasonable and included both delivery before and collection afterwards.
