Can i please ask some advice? My daughter did a dispute via nationwide re smile direct, she had paid in full by July before they went bust, but obviously the lifetime guarantee is not valid, and after seeing Martin's show we raised a claim and got all her payments back... then Tabeo are now asking for it back saying she didn't follow procedures for the lifetime guarantee and are demanding it all back and have closed her case so she can't argue with ......... Where does she stand? Are they just trying it on? Or does she have to pay it ?
It sounds like the bank did a chargeback not S75 given the firm are chasing but that doesn't mean she doesn't owe the money if the product was purchased and delivered, the firm going bust and losing the warranty doesn't change the fact she at least has the product and effectively now hasn't paid for it.
Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
