Demand Flexibility Service - think BG hasn't removed me?

I've had an email from Octopus saying that I'm signed up for another DFS, other than theirs and that I can only have one.
I moved suppliers (BG to Octopus) last year, circa beginning October.  I did sign up to BG's Sunday saving sessions but I would have assumed, that having left BG, my DFS with them would lapse.

Question:
Before I start the tortuous process of engaging with BG, how do I find out which DFS I'm currently registered with?

I don't think Sunday Saving Sessions count as DFS.
Can you tell Octopus that you really want to be on *their* DFS, and can they tell you who the other supplier is? Or just override them?

Thanks @QrizB for your prompt response.  I did respond to the Octopus email, selecting the option that I really want to stay with their Saver Sessions.  I hope that will be sufficient to override, though, good point,  if not I'll see if I can get the other DFS provider details from Octopus.

I can't face engaging with BG anymore - it's like being in 'Hotel California'.....

I think you first have to opt out from British Gas DFS scheme from what I've read elsewhere.

    Sorry!

(As I know how difficult it can be to deal with BG sometimes!)

If you use X aka twitter, try DM message to British Gas. I've always found the twitter type teams to be much better quality staff, including with BG for complicated problems too.

If there are multiple sign ups, the most recent one should take effect so have BG just resubmitted you?  If so get Octopus to resubmit and that should take effect.

I could understand the approach of my having personal responsibility of opting in/out with the DFS if I communicated directly with the DFS, but I don't, because I register via my current supplier to opt in to DFS.  If that supplier relationship ends I would expect that erstwhile supplier would inform the DFS. How can I benefit from a supplier's DFS if they don't supply me?

I have, following @QrizB, advice emailed Octopus to see if they can let me know who the other registered DFS supplier is - it is either BG or a double entry by Octopus - and, at the moment I am leaning heavily towards the former, (but happy to be proved wrong)!!!!!

If I can avoid communicating further with BG, I will - as therein lies madness, (sentiment express totally as a result of my own experience).

I don't know anything about my DFS registrations other than Octopus emailing me letting me know that I have more than one and that I can't have more than one.  The Octopus email stated I email the 'other registrant' to let them know that I want to opt out of their DFS registration - but I don't know for sure who the other registrant is - hence the question 'how do I find out who I am registered with on the DFS register'.

It is all a bit farcical.

I was signed up with EDF and switched supplier and had no problems opting in with my new supplier so once again, it's just BG being completely incompetent.

@Swipe I have been toddling along very happily with the Octopus Saver sessions since I switched back in October 2023. Now I have received an email from Octopus with this issue about more than one DFS registration.

I can imagine that it is a BG issue but their, possible, incompetence (and at the moment I don't know if it is them) may mean I can't take advantage of Octopus Saver Sessions going forward.

Sadly what makes sense to you and me isn't always how things work.

    Good luck anyway!

I'm also still seeing my account credited for Peak Sunday and Peak Winter credits even though I left them at end of Nov.  I have signed up for Octopus savings sessions and have had Octopoints issued for several and no emails about being signed up with another supplier.   According to BG's Peak Sver terms you have to be a customer so they should automatically cancel you as soon as you leave....but its BG so why would the right thing happen 😅.

I'm just trying to figure if I have the patience to go on chat and see if I can get them to pay it out to me lol..
