How to stop/cancel Jibe RCS messages on iPhone
Can anyone offer any help on this please.
The wife has an iphone, has had iphones for a number of years now.
However she has recently started to get these Jibe RCS verification code messages
having googled the issue it appears to be something related to Android settings when changing over from Android to Apple.
but I can't find anything recently related to Apple iPhone issues.
but its a number of years since the Mrs had an Android phone.
any offers/advice on how to stop it.
I am sick and tired of blocking the number only to get more & more & more of the messages

These are messages sent to verify a phone number when someone sets up Chat in Google Messages on an Android phone.
When they set it up they can either wait up to 24hours for it to register automatically. Or they can manually put their number in which prompts a verification SMS to be sent.
Someone has typed in your wife's number (which probably differs by a digit or so from their actual number) by mistake.
I'm not sure how you resolve this other than hope they realise they are putting in the wrong number2 -

The Mrs had her number for XX years (its not a new number anyway0 -
I'm not sure why you think the length of time she has had the number matters ?
Nor the time of day or how many times the person is trying. If they haven't noticed that they have put in the wrong number then every time they try to use Chat it will try to verify.2 -

she has had an Iphone for 4-5+ years (if not longer) she has had mobile number will in excess for 10-15 years.
I could understand if she changed her phone number recently.
the problem here as I have said is there appears to no fix for this if you have an iPhone to stop/block it
unless you have an Android phone according to my google searches
*I've blocked countless numbers from the messages, so it can't be the same one each time.0 -
I still don't get why the length of time she has had her number matters.
What would matter is when the other person made the mistake with entering their number.
On another forum there might be another person complaining that they can't set up Chat on their Android phone.
Have you been looking up the situation where someone changes from Android to iPhone without de-registering from Chat? That's a different matter.
Your last comment about blocking different numbers. Text messages show the number that they came from not the number they are going to. The number isn't the number of the phone (that the person has entered) but the number the message came from. Which will be from a pool of numbers0 -
