This early evening I had a O2 mobile scammers fishing ph call ringing me from 44 7482 874978 .
They had my name but on answering I didnt give them anything as I noticed the number that was calling and O2 never ever calls me .
Looked the number up online and read multiple reports of said O2 scam calls from said above ph number.
After ending the call withing minutes I received a warning message from 02 of multiple attempts to access my O2 mobile account through the O2 contact centers ,
So they were attempting to get into my account
Getting scam calls and more often texts emails is nothing new to me but this time they had my name which surprised and concerned me as they normally dont know when you ask them ?
So to end it I rang O2 and reported it although Im not sure O2 really cared much I guess it happens all day long .

Why answer numbers you don’t recognise? If it’s important, they’ll leave a message.2

The reason I have a mobile is to use it as a telephone to answer phone calls not so much for use on the net as most do.
I often receive ph calls hence Im reasonably used to scammers calling/texting wasting my time so tend to have to put up with it these days .
As I have to block so many calls and texts its not too bad and it keeps me on my toes but this time they had my name so they are making headway .2 -
I mean, that’s why I have a phone as well. To answer calls. But not from numbers I don’t know and am not expecting. Just opening yourself up to risk there. Like I said, if it’s important they’ll leave a message. Spoiler alert, they never do.

I have to take calls from strangers so thats a choice I have made .
The scammers are the cost of doing so but this is the first time they have attempted to get into my account as evidenced by O2,s warning text .
So the scammers are working harder on my number /account .
