Just tell them you want the information needed to pay the card off.
He or she will likely already have it, this thread is overcomplicating the situation massively.
That may turn out to be so, but if the OP isn’t aware of this then if they cannot get help they would indeed be a hostage to Virgin’s APR.

I have a Direct Debit set up to my CC, and on viewing this in my banking app, the 16 digit card number is there, so worth checking that if you have one.

If you've been making minimum payments on your Virgin credit card and not more, even if you've never missed, you will have been reducing the outstanding debt very slowly, especially since the 0% ended, and it's quite possible that most of your minimum payment each month is going on interest. This is called "persistent debt" and card issuers are meant to write to you suggesting increased payments. I had this with two of my cards, one of which I was told I couldn't spend anything more on, and the other that I was using. The first one wasn't replaced after expiry although my statements now suggest that I still have my old credit limit and could go out and spend lots of money if I had a card. On the second, I made some voluntary payments and got out of persistent debt a few months ago. My dad since decided he wanted to help me pay off the cards and get out of this interest trap.

You don't need a new Virgin card in order to pay it off, and £40 interest monthly on £2K worth of debt suggests quite a high APR. Ask Virgin for the full card number if you don't have it printed on your statement.

How long do you have on the new card at 0%? Don't mix new spending and balance transfer repayments.

OP: I just checked my Virgin credit card statement in the app and it has the full CC number listed in it.

Op hasn’t come back and explained the main confusion. How have they been paying the bill already?
