Three and voicemail... pulling out what little hair I've left

We have two ex-123 PAYG SIMs from three and these had for years voicemail switched off. Recently, no idea when, both SIMs somehow switched to voicemail on. NBD we thought, just send some USSD code and it's off again.

Nope. First you have to call three CS to make that switch for you and before they switch it off, they ask all sorts of security questions including the last 6 digits of the SIM number (that's different from the phone #). What a palaver!

Second, even after calling three CS two times now for both SIM (so four uplifting palavers) and having always waited the required 24 hrs, both SIMs are still on voicemail.

Is there anything short of a formal complaint we can do? (If the credit is £0.00, we'll leave them anyway but that'll take a while.)

My experience with Three is that you have to call C/S to turn voicemail off as it's turned on by default and vice versa to reactivate it (there's no text short code for this).

Yes, I know... I've already called them twice to get VM switched off, as has my partner. But still we're both on VM on... it can't be that hard?

I'll trigger a formal complaint then as I don't know what else I can do. Horrible customer service.

I know.

It wasn't the reason I left them and it wasn't entirely monetary, but their C/S are totally, completely, utterly, incompetently useless.

I've now been with EE for just over 2 years and on the rare occasion I've had to contact their C/S, whether by phone or twitter, they've been brilliant.

Best of luck though with getting it sorted.
