You've posted on here before on this issue. I remember the fabulous view. I'm not sure how the Planning Portal would allow a company like Studio Charrette to advertise. I looked at their website and they seem way out of the league of a porch extension. Find a local Structural Engineer who can do design, plans and help you with PP and Building Regs.1

My husband is an SE and whilst majoring in Oil and Gas, he has always done numerous, house extension jobs, where people are not quite sure what they want. He has the skillset to discuss with the client and come to a solution. Why would you pay an architect or architectural technologist (what is that?) for something that an SE can do and cut out the middle man?

architectural technologist (what is that?)
A technician is usually fine for a standard porch or extension, but an architect better for an unusual type of extension or house.
They often work together, and a lot of technicians can be good at design, and architects also practical.2 -

He has the skillset to discuss with the client and come to a solution. Why would you pay an architect or architectural technologist (what is that?) for something that an SE can do and cut out the middle man?Because most structural engineers deal primarily with the design of major structural elements and/or making modifications to the existing structure. Although many in the architectural profession would disagree, a SE is usually someone with higher qualifications and consequently can charge more for their services. The usual approach in small building projects is to use an architect who will buy-in SE services for the bits they can't do. In the same way most people go to a solicitor for legal advice, who then buys the time of a barrister for any difficult bits.Speaking as an engineer myself, I would suggest architects (on the whole) have a better feel for the aesthetics of buildings, whereas engineers think more of the technical detail. Architects generally have more experience in the planning process and (if local) may have a relationship with the LPA so they know before they start what is likely to get approval (or not). That doesn't mean a SE cannot do the whole job, but unless the SE is especially charitable it is likely to cost the client more than other options.2 -
