Sony 26" LCD in Sainsbury

Just seen the TV advert for a Sony 26" LCD, have been looking for a 26" and planning on getting one tomorrow. The model shown for £349.00 is KDL26U3000U. I have been looking at the T version of this, which is quoted much higher price elsewhere but I would like the 5 year warranty offered by the likes of John Lewis etc but, at this price it seems too good opportunity to miss, assuming I can find a store with stock that is!

Does anyone have this model of TV? I've read that the 26T is the better spec but....price is very good.

i dont know about the 26" model, but i purchased the kdl32u3000 from morrisons for £450, i am extremely happy with it, does everything i expect from a tv, it all depends what you want from your tv, i would say go for it, but i am sure there are others that can point you to a better tv for roughly the same money, HTH Dave.

    This is the T model

It had a free Sony 5 year warranty before Christmas if you collected... but no longer. The T3000 has a superior panel in it apparently.

However, this model is a new model.

Comet were trying to sell it at £549.99 before Christmas. Now it is £399.99!

I think it is worth paying the extra for this than the model you mention. I struggled to find out the difference between the 2800 and the 3000. The differences I found were that the 2800 has low energy consumption and high contrast ratio.
  • i bought in my sainsburys a sony bravia 20" lcd for 299.99, not bad as it took me ages to find a 20" sony under 300 pounds, it was 449.99 before
  • I bought one of these today from my local Sainsurys.

Normally I read all the reviews available, but gave up as I couldn't find any for this particular model. In fact got totally confused between all the different Sony part numbers.

Manufacturers seem to make it so difficult these days to work out which is the newer/better models.

Quite impressed with the set though. Wanted it as a TV/ 2nd Monitor for my "computer room". Sitting to the left of my Samsung 22" monitor and doing a fine job.

Great picture on normal TV, and really good as a computer monitor as well.

Was going to get this Sony from Sainsbury but, in the end went for a very good offer from RGB Direct, instore price for the 26T3000 of £489.00 inc 5 year warranty. For a cheap 26" LCD this one is a good option, just a more basic model. If you're not that worried about a warranty then go for the T2800 from Comet at £399.00, it's almost the same as the T3000 from what I can tell. The RGB offer has been extended but not sure for how long, plus you need to be close to Essex/ E London.
  • I managed to pick one of these up from Sainsburys in Nottingham today, they only had a couple left as they were flying out.
£349 is a bargain for this set and as we get staff discount it only came to £298 for us!!

It's a little small for a main set but we have it in the dining room for playing the Wii.

Love it....if you can get one then grab one.

BTW they have 2 HDMI sockets.
TESCO R&R was so much fun!.. Over a grand made!
