You can download the yahoo mail app from the app store and get all your emails that way.

No idea what joined them together for your photos might mean
What i meant was when i turned it on and went into settings it said if you have an I Phone place it along side and it will upload all programs etc. but not Yahoo ,when i go into messages it only seems to work with  I Mail.
I use the yahoo app on iPhone but i cant find an app on iPad. You need to go to the yahoo website and log in there
Possibly the ipad mini2 is too old to support the current Yahoo app.

I'm not certain about that particular app but I find various apps are not available on older ipads.

If that is the case then logging in to yahoo from the browser is one way forward.
Or setting up Mail to pick it up

As you've an old version of the software some things may be in slightly different places than the current versions however it has always been in Settings so go into settings and use the search bar at the top for "add account"

Sounds like you haven't done a full reset but that doesn't align to having done the setting transfer from the iPhone unless your phone too is logged into your daughter-in-law's account. Is a one off activity to log off and log in as yourself.

Something not right as DullGreyGuy suggests.  I would be tempted to fully reset the iPad and start again.  You don't want to have anyone else's information on there.
