I have been given a second hand I Pad Mini 2 by a family member ,switched it on and it said to use if you have an I Phone put along side and it will run the same ( my wording )
Well i did and it now has all my photos etc.
The problem i have is i use  Yahoo.co.uk for all my e mails but the i pad only seems to use I Cloud , can anybody tell me
A) can an I Pad 2 run yahoo.co.uk e mails
B) if so how do i do it
C) If i go to factory re set will i loose all the pictures etc on my phone as i joined them together ( i think )

Sorry for the long post and what some will think are stupid questions but i am not very tech savvy and over 70 ,thanks for any help.

You can download the yahoo mail app from the app store and get all your emails that way.

No idea what joined them together for your photos might mean
Things that are differerent: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid

What i meant was when i turned it on and went into settings it said if you have an I Phone place it along side and it will upload all programs etc. but not Yahoo ,when i go into messages it only seems to work with  I Mail.

How do you access Yahoo Mail on your iPhone? Just need to setup the iPad in the same way. The synchronisation between the two devices mainly focuses on Apple services and apps and cannot/doesnt synch absolutely everything.

It's just Apple's simplistic way of replicating core settings (eg iCloud Photos) from an existing device to a new to you device. Thus anything synched via iCloud (photos, contacts, notes, calendars etc) appears on the new device automatically

Thanks for the iCloud explanation.  Indeed if you have your iPhone set to sync your photos with iCloud they will then appear on any Apple device with the same iCould log it.

Not something I use for photos but it is a very popular feature.  I do use it for calendar entries.

On ipad settings select 'Mail', add account and add your yahoo email account detaila.  It will then sync the yahoo mail.

Possibly the ipad mini2 is too old to support the current Yahoo app.

I'm not certain about that particular app but I find various apps are not available on older ipads.

If that is the case then logging in to yahoo from the browser is one way forward.
