Why do you say that? I’ve settled cases with a number of PPCs who have paid hundreds of pounds at a time for this kind of harassment. It depends on the underlying facts, but if (for example) the recipient of the texts was not actually liable for the parking charge or had already paid it, it can certainly amount to harassment contrary to the Protection from Harassment Act 1997 and/or breach of the recipient’s data privacy rights contrary to the UK GDPR.5

Coupon-mad said:Yes, letters are going to your old address. Almost certainly due to you not updating your logbook address when you last moved.
You MUST reply to that text and tell them to erase the old address and point out that if this is a BPA parking firm, the new BPA CoP from Feb 2024 requires a fresh PCN to be issued to the right address (at the original rate/discount/appeal deadline) so that the keeper may pay, appeal or pass it to the driver.
Attach proof that you are the right data subject. A utility bill or bank/card statement from the old address and a newer one from the new address? That would prove it.
DO NOT ring them.
I had a similar experience to peanut518 but I have updated both my V5c and driving license to the new address before getting this text.
Summary below:
Received a text yesterday from DRP on a PCN overdue - (overstayed at Millennium Leisure Park Greenwich)
PCN was issued late August 2023 and I moved early 2023.
I am a little afraid to pass on my current address to DRP so I replied by text this morning (did not call) to DRP the following.
To whom it may concern,I can confirm that this is the first time I have seen this PCN (reference xxx), I have moved since early 2023 and updated DVLA of the address change at a similar time. Please erase any old address associated with this car registration. As this PCN originated from Horizon Parking (BPA registered), the new BPA CoP from Feb 2024 requires a fresh PCN to be issued to the RIGHT address (at the original rate/discount/appeal deadline) so that the keeper may pay, appeal or pass it to the driver. Please forward this message to Horizon Parking so the PCN (reference xxx) can be issued to the RIGHT address.Happy to provide prove of the current address once this has been passed to horizon parking. Thank you.
Should I also disclose my current address to DRP.
PS: I am glad I have found this MSE forum, I would be panicking if it wasn't for all these threads and post. Thank you all in advance.0 -
Peanut518 said:Thanks again for your comments, I have finally written to the address given on the website asking for copies of their letter and the PCN and also requesting a GDPR Subject Access Report to see if anything happens.
DVLA address was incorrect and has been corrected, I will keep thread updated if there is any response.
Cheers!
Have you received any more calls/letters from DRP even since?

You should start a new thread of your own as it can become confusing trying to answer more than one poster on the same thread.1

Just update your new address (yes give the new address to them by email):
Info@drpl.co.uk
Quote the long ref in DRP's letter.
Tell them to ERASE the old address and to crawl back under their stone. Rude as you like.
Then do the same to Horizon's DPO email address, but this time quoting the PCN number.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
