Flip Phone February?
Options
Hi
Sometimes I read about people ditching Reddit or Facebook or whatever.
Because of enshittification and because life's too short.
But some people are ditching their smartphones.
Maybe the topic is a middle-class middle-age thing, a first-world problem.
An extract from some articles...
Your child-raising years are short.
Your kids NEED YOU.
Want to be a good mom?
Want to raise healthy kids?
The best thing you can do is throw your smartphone into the toilet.
Also there are “kosher phones” with limited internet access.
And grey-scale is an option for some smartphones.

Child raising years are short so why do you want to waste 3 hours each week getting to the bank, queuing in it etc when you could spend 2 minutes on your smartphone to transfer money between accounts? No one will thank you when you spend the morning frantically trying to get the kids to school in the snow only to get there and find its closed because you didn't get the alert/email on your phone etc.
Like most things in life, moderation is much better than being extreme. I did ditch the smartphone for a while, there were elements I liked, didn't so much like being the only person that had to be in the office 5-6 days a week as couldn't work from home because you needed a security app to log into the network from outside the office. Likewise at airports having to mess about with paper boarding cards etc rather than e-cards.1 -
Embracing a feature phone doesn't have to mean going cold turkey on your smartphone Smartphones are great, and so valuable to us.
