Ok at work now, didn’t get to the PO intended as argued with OH before I left then didn’t have time, well not argued but both arguing for the same cause but I came out of it feeling rubbish, he has since apologised as not meant. But still I’m feeling a bit emotional because of it, also sent Roo to school and he’s still a little under the weather and I hate that.
Really need to work out how to ask for a pay rise without undermining anyone, without making this extra role I’m doing my sole job, and making sure I keep hold of the other role. But get paid what I deserve to do both. Going to think long and hard about what to say and who to say it to.I’ve made myself and OH cheese sandwiches and have had my breakfast porridge so on target for a NSD.Still a bit poorly myself but lack of sleep plays a big part, just keep worrying about the tax and who to speak to re pay rise.Still doing the surveys, up to £12 odd now. Have also taken some books out of the back of the car that were going to go to charity and I’m going to try one of the book buying websites, can anyone recommend any? Also have some silver forks in a box, not sure what to do with them? Possibly have some dvds too. I still have lots of stuff for charity, so I don’t feel too too bad about taking a couple of things out.And breathe, just need to get through to 5.45 when home. Was going to go in the gym but I just want to hibernate under the duvet 😔. Sorry for being down.2 -

Hope you feel better soon.
I put my books through each of the websites and see which one is offering best money. I've used Ziffit, we buy books and music magpie in the past. Sometimes they are on the cashback sites too."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Hi I know I am very late to the party on this, but cash back websites. Which are the best ones? How do you use them and can you do it for every day stuff? As I’m trying to curb spending a lot and only want to buy essentials, can you get it for supermarkets or similar? Sorry for not knowing. Thanks so much.2

I have loads of cashback sites. I am with quidco, jam doughnut, sprive, Top cashback....one through work as well but can't remember the name of that one. I use them most weeks and will have a flick through the apps to see which one has best offer. Then I buy a voucher on some (jam doughnut for example) for the cost of whatever my shopping is and it gives instant cashback and others I use for online stuff like insurances (quidco) and will click through from their website and I have to usually wait months for payout on those. Mr T, Mr S both do CB on the JD website usually 3-4% so can build up quickly for a week's shopping. Basically most big places offer CB of some sort these days.
Hope you're feeling a bit brighter soon ((hugs)).

I'm with jwil on the books, I also try all 3 of those websites because sometimes one offers more than the others 🙂Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.
Starting Mortgage Balance (June 2019) £72,000.
Aiming to be mortgage free by my 40th birthday, June 2026!1 -
Hi, thank you so much @jwil and @Jessy103 I have now looked at ziffit, books are about 50p so will check the others as only have 8, might see if I can dig out some more. I’ve realised how good I’ve been at pairing my stuff down, which at this point isn’t the best thing! As I could have done with selling it. But at least the house isn’t over crowded!@debtfreewannabe321 thank you for the cash back info, I am going to have to have a look into this as think I could save money.
i cancelled my car insurance yesterday. As premium was £68 per month! Found it cheaper at £31 per month with £61 deposit. So had to shell out that deposit and the same amount to cancel. So down £122, but will save £37 a month for 11 months on premium which equates to £285 saving over the year. So very happy with that.
Spoke to boss about a pay rise and he played my job role down and said that he would get others to take on some of the work, so although no more money, hopefully a little less stress.Had a craving for fishfingers for dinner, no idea why. OH found he had £7 on his tosco card. So I went on my way home from work along with getting fuel,
I got the extra cheese and milk needed, along with potatoes for mash and for the stew, and bought frozen peppers as worked out better value than the fresh. I’ve allowed myself £200 for fuel for Feb, well
I had to get fuel yesterday and it’s not Feb, but I had 3 miles left of fuel when I got to the fuel station! I have been driving a lot better, so much so the avg mpg has gone up by a whole mile in the car!
I’m still feeling rough, have a long day at work today., and a photoshoot all day tomorrow! It’s that time of the month and I’m really suffering. Swear it’s getting worse with age!
oh on more money matters. I am looking to change our phone contracts from voxi to another. Needs to be vodaphone. So have looked on MSE deals and some look like they would give me a good saving every month. Just need to commit! Which I keep
putting off as not very technically minded.
Anyway onwards and upwards!3 -
Check out MSE for mobile phone info before you change as there are only a few networks. We are on 02 network but use Tesco. Don't forget to sign up for your cashback site first as you can get some back on those. I use Top Cashback and occasionally Quidco. I like Tcb as you can also get gift cards through it with cashback and every few weeks they do a £2 bonus for spending £10 so a voucher will cost about 7.50. if you need a referral code for cashback DM me.
Well done on using up those points! I'm off to do the same and top up with fuel on the way back from the school run. Have a good day!1 -
I use smarty! £6.10 for a month's plan (we have a group plan with three of us on it at the same price). There's lots of cheap ones about these days if your phone is ok just pay for a cheap SIM.
How on earth did you make it to three miles left without your car going in to a total meltdown at you 🤣 ours gets to sixty and stresses us out so much we feed it again!MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. I use TCB, but I don't shop much so I don't use it regularly. You can get an add in for chrome where it tells you when the site you are on offers cashback which I find useful. It's good for when changing insurance, utilities etc as well."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do".
