So we made it to France. It’s lovely. I just need to relax! I’m going to use this time as a reset and hopefully come up with some ideas to make my life easier.

Yay won £25 on the premium bonds, which is awesome but I think I am going to spend tons on holiday  way more than I thought, food and drinks are sooo expensive! As are tolls!!! Will try and be more mindful now I know how much things cost!!!! I ate 3 courses at dinner and am still hungry, tiny portions are not my thing!

Doing a lot of meal planning on my head though. Which is helpful.

@missymoo81 - I know food is expensive but if you really want a good value 3 course meal eat at lunchtime and look out for a menu de jour - some are a set meal but usually there are choices for for the main with a set thing for starter and dessert.  Often they include wine or cider in the price as well.  Most of the ones we've had in the past have been really good - there are only 2 when I was disappointed and didn't eat the main - tripe and tongue!  Both of those there weren't any choices for the main and were in hotels so we avoid those now.

The starter is usually a buffet - loads of different salads, various proteins (I would avoid prawns if there are any!).  Quite often it will be help yourself dessert as well with a choice of 3 or 4 different things.  These meals are usually under 20 Euros which is pretty good value for a 3 course meal - wish we had something similar in this country!

There are plenty of Lidl around which is where we tend to shop as like the UK it tends to be cheaper than the other SMs.  The most expensive tends to be E Leclerk (think Waitrose equivalent!).

Where in France are you?  If you get yourselves to Brittany there aren't any toll roads but plenty of good roads.

    Enjoy your holiday.
