You quoted my post but removed my reference to the app and then went on to say the app was fine.
What a strange thing to do!0 -

My wife and I would both use the same computer to check online banking (both Santander C/A), she doesn't have the Santander App on her phone either. We use Chrome browser and have the AdNauseam plugin to block ads. In December with AdNauseam disabled when one of us logged in at any point after the other you would need an OTP and I guess this had some flag either locally or remotely (cookie or ip-address) to enable the next login (as same person) to go through with just passcode. With AdNauseam enabled whatever tracking/cookies were happening allowed both of us to log in with just passcode (no OTP), this made things smooth/easy.
Now in January with AdNauseam enabled, every login, every time needs an OTP. Disabling AdNauseam we are back to OTP when one person uses it, but we only need to check my wife's account once a month or so, whereas all the bills go out of mine so I am moving savings <> current account a few times a month. Also I now get way more intrusive Ads... Annoying when they change things and make user experience worse.
I have similar issues and we now use a second browser (MS Edge) just for logging into my wife's Santander account and it works pretty well.0 -

The only 'issue' was that I was texted an OTP each time after the first two or three transfers.
Maybe I was lucky having decided to do my housekeeping early.
Edit: Using Chrome browser.0 -

I had this in the app for the last few months. It's easy to handle the OTP in the app as a single click fills the texted code into the app - but it's still a bit of a nuisance.
Today, I did my transfers with their new Pilot (Beta) app, and there were no OTPs in sight. Fingers crossed they will replace the OTP for payments to existing payees permanently in the app.
Another nice thing in the Pilot app is that your existing payees are sorted alphabetically, so it's easier / quicker to find the right payee. I'd still like to see a search option but they don't seem to be of a mind to provide this.
