  • I see the email address on the tool has changed to motorcommissionenquiries@mobilize-fs.com since I sent my first email so I emailed them on that too. No immediate response. You'd think they'd bother to set up an auto response with the dedicated email address but it seems not. Probably just easier for them to ignore all emails going there without having to look through them in case of unrelated queries.

They can ignore them until September after the FCA finishes - if they knew they didn't use DCA they could probably just delete them all though they won't

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

  • Hi all I bought a car on PCP in 2019 and am thinking how to approach this whole subject. What is your opinion on these car finance claim companies that do the claim for you?

If you want the same value for money the "claims" companies provide get a bundle of £20 notes and burn them.

Just use the MSE template if you really can't simply write a letter or send an email, that is literally all these firms are doing, they have literally no skills and no powers beyond anything you can do. Please be aware also, they have no way of finding out who you had finance with, there is no central record, at best they will simply complain to everyone they can find and hope they get lucky - all this will do is increase costs for people who are buying cars in the future i.e. you are making my next car more expensive, so don't do it.

Simplest thing - send an email to the firm you bought the car from asking if your sale involved DCA and if so, you want to register with them and then wait until September/October for the review

You are considering losing around 40% of your payout for something that takes 2 minutes to do yourself in a couple of sentences sent by email to the finance company (using the details on their website)?

I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.

Thank you for the advice I will look into it myself then.
