Migration notice defer ?
Comments

My child is going to be 19 next month on the claim date of the migration letter. He is going back to college in September. I renewed the tax credits by ringing them and letting them know he was continuing in full time education in September. I was sent a renewed tax credit award which included his disability element. Then a week later I got the migration notice. As he is 19 on the claim by date can I get the migration notice deferred until his 20th birthday?0

I will ring them and see how I get on. Just seems strange the claim by date is my child's 19th birthday. I was sent a renewed tax credits award up until their 20th birthday. But then get a migration notice afterwards.0

You will need to ring the number In the letter. It will only be deferred up until 5th April 2025 because Tax credits is ending completely on that date.https://www.gov.uk/government/news/time-to-renew-for-tax-credits-customers#:~:text=Tax%20credits%20are%20ending%20on,Ireland%2C%20explaining%20what%20happens%20next.Atmosphere said:My child is going to be 19 next month on the claim date of the migration letter.
