does have variations, as does

Home Garden >DIY Materials>Painting Supplies>Masking Tape & Painter's Tape

If I click sell similar from an existing listing in those cats on my private account no option to add variations, sell similar from the same listings on my business account and the option is there.  

Bit odd, I'm sure private sellers can use MVL?

Maybe not if you are a new user or not sold for a while?

Try starting a new listing from scratch on the desktop

Tried that,in fact I've tried everything lol ....and I'm not a new user,been on ebay over 20 years and sold a good few items recently
